BARREL AGED IMPERIAL STOUT - 8.8% ABV

Taru Ni | 樽弐 (meaning: second barrel) is an imperial stout we fermented and aged for 28 months in Chardonnay puncheons barrels before blending it with a hint of fresh smoked beer to refine its edges. 

As with everything stamped with the Godspeed name, the intent here is first and foremost to showcase balance, which in this case highlights the delicate vinous character of the French oak barrel and the rich malty depths of the imperial stout-style. That's exactly what you get here: fudge, lightly-roasted coffee, marzipan, a hint of fieldberry, baked apple, and oak tannin. The body has a viscous quality that blankets the palate, leading into a relatively dry finish. Enjoy today in the summer heat or allow it to cellar for cooler times. Cheers!
